Dr. Patricia (Pat) Köster was a founding member of the Department of English and its longest-serving faculty member. She started her teaching career in Victoria College in 1958 and continued with the Department until 1995. Her principal areas of research and teaching were Restoration literature, women’s writing, bibliography, 18th-century literature, and Canadian literature.
“For the Love of Books” was an exhibition of 180 rare books selected from the 1000+ volumes given by the Köster family to the Special Collections and University Archives at the University of Victoria. We had 150 books on display for a guided tour on April 12, and additional 30 books in display cases 2 April – 31 May 2012. This exhibition was co-curated by Janelle Jenstad and Sandra Friesen.
