Provide and discuss supporting evidence for all argumentative points. Do not make claims that cannot be supported by evidence, or that are contradicted by evidence.
If I write “TE?” in the margin of your essay, ask yourself if you have made an assumption about the story or character based on extra-textual considerations, or if you have misunderstood the evidence.
